I must say, I really have a great team put together to go to Haiti. We are officially on a holding pattern awaiting to see what Hurricane Tomas does.
We will literally only know hours leading up to our departure if the trip is on or not... We are keeping a close eye on the trajectory of Hurricane Tomas and Air Canada travel advisories. So far, AC has not put up travel advisories for Haiti.
I was chatting with my friend Christophe in Jacmel this morning, and he says that people are already starting to panic. Understandably so...for us, it's a mere inconvenience, for Haitians, it means yet another natural disaster to live through and when your home is a tent, and your bed is the ground...well, it scares and saddens me!
I WILL be going to Haiti, it's just a matter of when!
Fingers crossed and prayers to all of the gods that Tomas will fizzle out before approaching Haiti!
